Showing off

Here's a picture of Jasper demonstrating his latest skill - grabbing his toes! This is a classic yoga pose called "happy baby" for obvious reasons. He can also do a left hand to right toe grab - very advanced.

Meeting a new friend

Last Sunday, Jasper and I went over to Oakland to see my friend Gabby and her daughter Lucia who is two. Lucia has been a big fan of Jasper via internet since he was born. They finally had the chance to meet in person. Lucia immediately ripped off his socks so she could touch his little feet - I can't blame her. This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship.

Sonoma Weekend

We had a lovely three day weekend in Sonoma - rented a cute little cottage with a private pool and gorgeous view of the Sonoma valley. Jasper enjoyed "swimming" in the pool. He also insisted on being awake for dinner (usually he sleeps quietly in his stroller). See the last photo for the little critter who visited us on Sunday morning - I was standing only about 2 feet away when I noticed him - yikes!

Daddy's home!

Mommy and Jasper are always sooo glad to see Daddy when he gets home. Jasper saves his biggest smiles for his Daddy. Paul gets some quality bug time and they play classic games like "Oh no, I've got your nose!" and "Rightside up, upside down".

Camping with the bug

We took Jasper on his first camping trip last weekend. He's way too little to eat smores, but I think he had a good time anyway. We made him a cozy little nest in the tent and he slept very well. The massive redwood that Paul and Jasper are standing next to is estimated to be 1200 years old. Just think, that's about 7,300 of Jasper's lifetimes!

Smiles everyone, smiles!

Here, at long last, are the promised smiles. Enjoy!!

The best invention ever!

I don't know why it took us 8 weeks to set up the baby swing. That thing is nothing short of miraculous. Jasper is hypnotized into sleeping within minutes. And it also makes appropriate chirping bug noises. Very nice for mommy to have an extra place to put her bug down during the day.
