Growing up fast!

Today was Jasper's two-week doctor's visit - he has gained back all of his birth weight and now weighs 7 lbs, 4 oz. He also grew 1 1/4 inches in length and his head grew one inch in circumference. Here are some photos of his cute outfits that he'll probably outgrow soon.

Mr. Big Mouth

Jasper is very good about using his gorgeous little mouth for nursing, yawning and crying. Here's video footage of him demonstrating two of those skills.

Homecoming!

They took great care of us at the hospital but after four days we were more than ready to come home. Jasper's security tag was removed, we dressed him in his special going home outfit and strapped him into his carseat. He conked out in the car after about two minutes. When we got home, Molly took a few cautious sniffs and ran off. Scout refused to come near him. Both kitties have since warmed up to him - all five of us took a nap on the bed today. Jasper has been sleeping with us so far - the kitties are enjoying the co-sleeper!

Happy Birthday Jasper!

Jasper Thomas Hardenbol was born on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 10:28 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds and 1 ounce and was 19 1/2 inches long. He has blue eyes, golden blond hair and to quote the nurse "great lips". This picture was taken less than one minute after he was born. We have pictures of him actually emerging into the world, but they're a bit gory. Email if you want to see them.

Countdown!

T minus 22 hours. Houston, there are no problems. All systems go for baby.

Baby habitat

A few pictures of our nursery - it's amazing how bright and sunny this room is now that we had it painted. I hope the baby will like his room as much as we do. Note the first week's diaper supply - yikes!
